Now, after a huge Day 1 at the NHL Draft, the future is even brighter.
The Sharks started the night off with forward Ivar Stenberg at No. 2 after some luck at the draft lottery. Then, they used pick No. 9 — acquired this week from the Ottawa Senators — to land North Dakota defenceman Keaton Verhoeff. But they weren't done, and after trading up, selected Vancouver Giants defenceman Ryan Lin with pick No. 21.
